Why I chose USP
This is the only MS program in Biomedical Writing in the country, as far as I know. USP has an excellent reputation. I love Philadelphia, and the program works for my lifestyle.
What I like best about my program
The faculty is brilliant and very down to earth and approachable. I feel very supported within this program — some of the professors I have worked with have taken time to mentor me even when I wasn't enrolled in one of their classes (Tom Lang, in particular). Susanna Dodgson is a trailblazer and her passion for medical writing is truly inspiring. Dan Benau is also fabulous.
Current research interests
In BW733 Healthcare Journalism, we created an online publication, Medical Journal of Therapeutics Africa (MJoTA). As a medical writer, it was a valuable tool for learning how to put together a periodical publication from start to finish as well as an opportunity to get published.
How this program will help me professionally
Biomedical Writing is an important component of practically every area within the pharmaceutical industry.
Other things I want people to know about USP
I am really glad to be here. USP is very student-friendly, a real gem!
