Health Policy Eligibility Requirements

Program PhotoIf you have a background or strong interest in health policy, you are encouraged to apply. Students must have a working knowledge of basic statistics and of computer applications for some courses, and should be fluent in both spoken and written English.

Applications for the PhD program are reviewed for admission to fall semester only. Deadlines for applications for the PhD program is April 15th.

The GRE requirement will be waived for any applicant who has successfully completed (grade of B or higher) a graduate course in health policy at USP.

Taking courses before admission to a degree program

If you are interested in enrolling in coursework without formal admission to the program you may do so. In addition, if you have a BA or BS from a science or health program you can enroll in individual courses to increase your knowledge in the field of public health, or you can apply to complete the masters of public health degree.

You can apply up to 12 credits earned toward the master of science or doctor of philosophy in health policy degree upon admission to the program. However, taking classes before you are accepted into the program does not guarantee your admission into the program. You must submit the following materials prior to course enrollment:

  • Application for Graduate Studies
  • Transcripts from all college/universities attended
  • Résumé/Curriculum Vitae
